Based at our Luckyn Lane campus (Basildon College), the School of Building Services are currently hiring for a Lecturer in Electrical Installations to deliver our Electrical Installation qualifications (City & Guilds) up to Level 3 and Electrical Apprenticeships. You will deliver first class teaching on related subjects. Working within an established and evolving team, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching in FE. Candidates must possess an NVQ at Level 3 in Electrical Installations, An Assessors Award / IQA qualification is also strongly desirable, but not essential. Please note, this post is a part time position, working 2.5 days per week (0.5 FTE / 19 hours per week). The FTE salary is between £26,000 - £38,572 (pro rata £13,351.35 - £19,807.24). As a minimum, candidates will ideally possess the following: NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations or equivalent Maths & English qualifications at Level 2 Up-to-date industry experience in Electrical Installations Level 5 Teacher's Qualification, or commitment to work towards Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment Levelling Up Premium Did you know that as teacher within the first 5 years of your FE teaching career you can apply for a "levelling up premium" from the Department of Education, which is worth between £4k and £6k net of tax. This is for anyone who has a teaching qualification, currently working towards a teaching qualification or will start working towards the teaching qualification within the next 12 months. The claim window opens each autumn and is applicable to anyone teaching the following subject areas: Building and construction Chemistry Computing, including digital and ICT Early years Engineering and manufacturing, including transport engineering and electronics.
