Over the last 50 years, Capel Manor College has helped thousands of school leavers and adults achieve their dream of working with animals, plants and the environment. As London's environmental college, the College plays a vital role in the green agenda for the capital, equipping the next generation of land-based sector workers with the skills and knowledge needed to preserve and protect London's wildlife, national parks and green spaces.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Catering Supervisor/Barista offering catering services to staff, students and the public.

Working closely with the Catering Manager you will assist with daily catering and restaurant operations; co-ordinate and supervise the day to day duties of the catering assistants and lead the catering team in the absence of the Catering Manager.

The role involves a range of responsibilities including assisting with planning menus, preparing and cooking meals; regular stock takes and reconciling recharges for in-house and commercial events.

You will also assist the Catering Manager to ensure staff levels are maintained to support the effective delivery of daily and weekend services within the agreed budget.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in catering, preparing and cooking a range of food to suit a variety of menus. You will have a positive and enthusiastic approach and be able to deliver a friendly yet professional customer experience.

This post will include weekend working, subject to business needs. The hours for the post are 8.00am until 4.00pm, five days out of seven.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative and beautiful land-based environment.

In order to be considered for the position, an application form must be completed. CVs will not be accepted. For further details and to apply, please visit the job vacancies section on the Capel Manor College website.

Please note that the College does not have a sponsorship licence. We are therefore unable to consider applicants who do not have the right to work in the UK.

We reserve the right to close a position once sufficient suitable applications have been received to form a short list. Early application is therefore encouraged.

What's in it for you?

We offer the opportunity to help develop your skills and knowledge in a friendly team environment, plus a range of benefits including generous annual leave, a defined benefit pension scheme (Teacher's Pension Scheme for Lecturing roles and Local Government Pension Scheme for Support roles), employee assistance programme and full access to Capel Manor Gardens.
